With the number of exhumed bodies in Santoshpur, in Bijapur district crossing the official figure of five on tues day, it is feared that more tribals were allegedly killed in Santoshpur on March 31.
In a petition filed with Chhattisgarh Human Rights Commission, it was allaged that a total of 12 persons were killed in the alleged fake encounter on March 31. The Complaint filed by Forum for Fact-finding Documentation and Advocacy named nine persons as killed in the encounter. On the nine, the authorities exhumed seven bodies out of eight on Monday and Tuesday.
The FFDA Had furnished names of nine persons namely Kodiya bojja, Emla Dula, Kudiam Musa, Madvi Mangu, Madkam Sanku, Modyam Lakhma, Modyam Fagu, Markam Soma, Bhogam Kamlu.
The FFDA stated that it could not identify three persons, killed alog with them. The petition was filed on April 28 after the matter came to fore through a section of media.
CGHRC Acting Chairman L.Jayaditya Singh said that a notice has been issued to Bijapur SP Ratanlal Dangi on April 28 and instructed him to submit a reply in 15 days time. It is learnt that Dangi is on leave and the charge has been given to Narendra Kumar Khare. " We are waiting for the reply of the Bijapur SP", said singh.
